Happy Sunday everyone! It has been a hot and sunny start to the holiday weekend and this trend will continue with highs back in the triple digits for Memorial Day. We are watching for another front to slide across the region tomorrow afternoon which will sadly bring no relief from our unseasonably hot temperatures, but will bring a slight chance for storms to the Northern South Plains tomorrow late afternoon through the early evening hours. Right now we have just been placed under the general thunderstorm category with no severe storms expected but make sure to stay tuned for updates in case of changes. Temperatures will remain in the triple digits for the next six days with abundant sunshine across the region. That means it is imperative to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Also, make sure to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated as well.
