Happy Wednesday everyone! It has been another windy and hot day across the South Plains with highs back in the upper 80’s and low 90’s. However, we are watching for our next cold front to slide across the region this evening, bringing another chance for severe storms to the Central and Eastern portions of the South Plains. The Storm Prediction Center has placed this area under the Slight and Marginal Risk categories for severe storms tonight. Biggest threats will be large hail, damaging wind gusts at 65+MPH, and an isolated tornado threat. Storms will stick around through early tomorrow morning and then high pressure will take over, bringing abundant sunshine to the forecast. Temperatures will slowly cool off into the upper 70’s by Friday with a quick warm up over the weekend and for the start of next week!
