Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been another sunny, windy, and hot day across the South Plains with highs back in the low 90’s. However, we are watching for our next cold front to arrive this evening which will bring us a slight chance for some showers and thunderstorms and a little added cloud cover. Thankfully, no severe weather is expected with this system. What it will not bring is a break from the heat. We are expecting temperatures to continue to slowly climb into the upper 90’s and even the triple digits by Friday. That means that it is imperative to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Also, make sure to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated as well. Our mini heat wave will end starting on Sunday as a second, much stronger cold front moves across the area, dropping our temperatures back near 80 degrees and bringing us a better chance for some much needed rain!
