Happy Wednesday everyone! It has been another sunny, windy, and hot day across the South Plains with highs back in the low to mid-90’s. Temperatures will continue to climb into the upper 90’s and the triple digits on Friday and Saturday with abundant sunshine in the forecast. That means that it is imperative to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Also, make sure to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated as well. Our mini heat wave will end starting on Sunday as a strong cold front moves across the area, dropping our temperatures back into the low 90’s Sunday afternoon and then the mid-80’s on Monday. It will also bring our next chance for showers and thunderstorms beginning on Mother’s Day afternoon and continuing on Monday so make sure to stay weather aware!
