Happy Monday everyone! It has been another beautiful, sunny, and warmer day across the South Plains with highs in the low 70’s. High pressure will remain over the region for much of tomorrow morning as well, but we are expecting a dry cold front to slide across the area Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. This will drop temperatures into the upper 60’s on Tuesday afternoon and then back below average in the low 60’s on Wednesday. This cool down will be short-lived though as high pressure takes over yet again, allowing temperatures to heat back up into the 70’s on Thursday and Friday. The biggest issue we will see over the next few days is the combination of wind and dry conditions which could lead to some fire weather issues. Be cautious when barbecuing or when frying turkeys and make sure to dispose of cigarettes appropriately to prevent fires from starting.
