Happy Wednesday everyone! We have had another sunny and beautiful day across the South Plains with high pressure continuing to reign over the region throughout the remainder of the work week. However, temperatures will begin their upward climb reaching into the upper 90’s, with a few folks even potentially reaching into the triple digits. That means that it is very important to stay sun safe – wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Sunshine will remain abundant throughout the week but we are watching for changes for the weekend. A low pressure system is set to track across the South Plains by late Friday night/Saturday morning bringing us a welcomed cool down and a possible chance for rain so make sure to stay weather aware. Right now it may impact the second half of area wide high school football games as well as the Texas Tech game so make sure to stay weather aware.
