Happy Thursday everyone! It has been another sunny and beautiful day across the South Plains with hot temperatures taking over this afternoon prior to our next cool down. That means that it is very important to stay sun safe – wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Sunshine will remain abundant throughout much of the day tomorrow, but a low pressure system is set to track across the South Plains Friday night through Sunday bringing us a welcomed cool down and a possible chance for storms over the weekend. That means rain is expected to impact area wide high school football games as well as the Texas Tech game so make sure to stay weather aware. Storm chances will increase dramatically Monday night into Tuesday as Tropical Storm Norma tracks into the Baja regions allowing for ample moisture to push into the South Plains so keep your umbrellas handy!
