Happy Friday everyone! After a sunny and hot week across the South Plains, we are starting to see some changes as our next low pressure system approaches the region. This has brought overcast and windy conditions to much of the area and we are also watching for our next chance for showers and thunderstorms. This system is also bringing us a welcomed cool down with highs expected to drop back into the upper 80’s over the weekend. In regards to the rain chances, we are expecting storms this weekend which have the potential to impact area wide high school football games as well as the Texas Tech game tomorrow so make sure to stay weather aware. Storm chances will increase dramatically Monday night into Tuesday as Tropical Storm Norma tracks into the Baja regions allowing for ample moisture to push into the South Plains so keep your umbrellas handy!
