Happy Wednesday everyone! It has been another sunny and hot day across the South Plains but our weather pattern will turn more Fall-like by the second half of the weekend. This will all be brought on by a series of short wave troughs and fronts that will trek across the region over the next week. Tomorrow will be another hot day with temperatures reaching into the mid-90’s but following our first disturbance Thursday evening, we will start to see a drop in temperatures. We will transition into the upper 80’s on Friday, the upper 70’s by Sunday, and then the upper 60’s by Tuesday, We will watch for a slight chance for storms tomorrow, but chances will increase drastically over the weekend and through the beginning of next week. The biggest threats with these storms will be areal flooding and low visibilities, but we won’t rule out severe weather chances completely so make sure to stay weather aware.
