Happy Friday and happy Fall everyone! It has been another sunny and warm day across the South Plains with clear conditions expected for high school football games this evening. However, this will be short-lived as we watch for a series of short wave troughs and fronts that will trek across the region over the weekend and next week. This will allow temperatures to drop into the upper 70’s by Sunday and then the low 70’s by Tuesday. Storm chances will increase drastically over the weekend and through the beginning of next week with the biggest threat being areal flooding so make sure to drive with caution – remember to turn around, don’t drown and stay weather aware!
