March 20th, 2017 Evening Weather

Happy Monday everyone! It has been another hot day across the South Plains with the ridge continuing to influence our weather pattern for the next few days. High temperatures are expected to stay in the low 90’s tomorrow with more sunshine in the forecast. However, a back door cold front will push into the region on Tuesday, bringing a drop in temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday. We are also watching for the dry line to set up on Thursday, bringing a chance for some pop-up thunderstorms across the region Thursday night into Friday morning. Some of these storms could be severe with hail and damaging winds as the biggest issues. Friday evening another cold front will push across the region keeping temperatures close to average. Finally, Thursday through Saturday we are expecting a higher potential for fire weather with windy and dry conditions in the forecast.
