Happy Monday everyone! It has been a much cooler day across the South Plains with highs sitting in the mid-70’s and overcast skies. The dry line has set up over the region and will slowly shift to the west this evening. We are watching for our next chance for showers and thunderstorms over the New Mexico counties and the western South Plains this evening, with most of the severe storms staying out of the South Plains. However, tomorrow we are watching for our next chance for severe storms that will occur tomorrow evening through Wednesday morning. Biggest threats will be large hail, damaging wind gusts 70+MPH, and tornadoes. Make sure to stay weather aware throughout the day! Storms will clear out by Wednesday evening and leaving us with cool and sunny conditions for the remainder of the work week.
