May 9th, 2017 Evening Weather

Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been another cool start to the day and cloud cover will continue to increase as the closed low continues to approach the South Plains. This will also bring our next chance for showers and thunderstorms, many of which may be severe. There will be two rounds of storms – the first will arrive around 4-5PM and the second will arrive around midnight and will continue through the early morning hours. Biggest threats will be large hail, damaging wind gusts 70+MPH, and tornadoes. Make sure to stay weather aware throughout the day! Storms will clear out by Wednesday afternoon and leaving us with cool and sunny conditions for the remainder of the work week. However, we are watching for another slight chance for storms on Mother’s Day.
