Happy Tuesday everyone! We have abundant moisture pushing into the South Plains today due to Hurricane Newton moving up the coast of Mexico towards the California coast. This will allow for scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop across the region. Unfortunately, just like last week, these storms will bring localized heavy rainfall and therefore more flooding to the South Plains. Please be prepared for low visibilities at times and watch for pooling water. Turn around, don’t drown!
Rain chances will slowly diminish as we head into the second half of the work week but there are more chances expected Saturday when another cold front moves over the South Plains. This will move temperatures from the upper 80’s and low 90’s back into the upper 70’s and low 80’s. Sunshine will return Sunday and for much of next week!
