Jimmy Kit Fields, 38, of Lamb County was sentenced on Friday to more than 19 years in federal prison. In July, Fields took a plea deal in July for enticement of a minor. He admitted that he had sex with a 13-year-old girl from Roosevelt County, New Mexico.
Court records said Fields gave the girl a cell phone, and then used the Internet to talk with her about sex. Investigators talked to the girl after she had gone missing for a time in May. She then admitted she had sex with Fields on four occasions, according to court records.
Fields was the subject of a public manhunt when an arrest warrant was issued for him on June 1. He was located in Lamb County and has been locked up since that time.
